ROAD CLOSURES
In 2026, the stars of Australian cycling return to our roads in what is set to be another spectacular showcase of lutruwita/Tasmania.
This inevitably comes with a number of road closures and we appreciate the cooperation and patience of all residents and the local community across all three days of cycling.

Thursday 19th Feb
Altus Traffic will be managing the individual time trial race in Launceston closing the following roads from 3pm - 7:30pm:
BOURKE ST between York St and Brisbane St W
BRISBANE ST WEST between Bourke St and Hill St
HILL ST between Brisbane St W and Quarry Rd
We will allow local resident access if required, however we do request, where possible, you avoid using the road during these times. We will have traffic marshals stopping you from accessing the course, however will let you through to your residence between races where possible.
We also request you DO NOT park your car on the road between 3pm and 7:30pm when we will reopen the road.
Friday 20th Feb
Tasmania Police will facilitate a rolling road closure for this race, which reduces the impact of the event. Vehicles will not be able to travel on or cross the route while the rolling road closure passes through. Delays of 15–20 minutes are expected.
The race start line will be on Gunns Plains Rd (Bannons Park), Gunns Plains, from 8am-8:30am.
There will be an additional start line on Crescent St, Penguin, between Main Rd and Ironcliffe Rd, from 12:30pm - 1pm.
There will be an additional road closure on Crescent St, between Main Rd and Ironcliffe Rd, Penguin from 9:30am - 4:15pm.
Sunday 22nd Feb
Altus Traffic will be managing the criterium race in Launceston closing the following roads from 8am - 4pm:
RACECOURSE CR between Cimitiere St and Lyttleton St
LYTTLETON ST between Racecourse Cr and Elphin Rd
ELPHIN RD between Brisbane St and Lyttleton St
BRISBANE ST between Tamar St and Elphin Rd
TAMAR ST between Brisbane St and Cimitiere St
CIMITIERE ST between Tamar St to Racecourse Cr

The race start line will be on Archer St, Longford, between Wellington St and Latour St, from 8am - 2:30pm
There will be an additional road closure on Poatina Road from Saundridge Rd to Westons Rd at 10:30am - 12:30pm and 2:30pm - 4pm.
